This just must be the "shit hits the fan" year for our family...
2007-04-28 - 4:15 a.m.
So, here's what's happening with my family.
Dad: Diagnosed with stage IV colon, tummy, kidney, appendix, diaphragm, liver, and abdominal lining cancer. Dying. Large amount of money charged to one of his credit card accounts when he was first in the hospital. Some jackwad stole the number and took advantage.
Mom: About to lose her job after 20 years at the same hospital because she has taken time off to care for my dad.
Brother: Told six months ago at his current place of employment that he's the next big candidate for a big promotion. After six months of jerking him around = no go. Two days ago = the brakes on his car go out. Thank God he was "only" in a parking lot when it happened.
Me: Car totalled in february by big fat, ice-laden tree. All okay now. Graduating and have a decent job at one of the best hospitals in the country.
Grandma: Now wanders the halls at night of her assisted living facility. Carries around her "babies" during wandering episodes. Also continually cares for her "sick" mother, who died 20-something years ago. Has been found wandering down the STREET looking for said mother.
Can it just let up yet?!? Seriously. It would be real real nice if just some good stuff would happen, you know? We keep getting hit when we're already completely obliterated by all that's going on with my dad... EFF.
